Updated Ref Board
Maybe this are the aftereffects of site infections - after being hit by the mindhack?

Hi Sean, I've found myself kinda stuck with how limited the design space I've given myself, seems like something so small and silhouette-safe is more of a character design detail rather a standalone prop. Would it be OK if I adapted my brief to a handheld pistol/remote device instead?
I think the face and hair of the Deus Ex character is pretty off limits because of the current stuff already on there (he has a hexagon on his forehead and retractable sunglasses in his cheeks, also for marketing reasons, his face and hair is pretty recognisable) - so it would have to be limited to a extremely restricted form that must follow the curvature of the sides/back of his head (leading it to be more of a character design detail rather than a meaningful, separate prop.)
In comparison, whilst I really enjoyed how Cyberpunk 2077 did their head-based cybernetics and how they have a great variety of sci-fi ideas (esp how they aggressively chop out entire sections of the face and replace them with hard surface nightmares), I left them out of my original pitch refs because it seems like that kind of head-specific design language is totally alien to the DX world, especially on the main character's head. I can definitely start being more aggressive in pushing shapes & silhouette but it kinda risks breaking the established DX worldbuilding so far, imo
Some existing examples of head augmentation in Deus Ex, heads are basically untouched silhouette wise:
Am I overthinking this and/or just being too restrictive in my constraints? Should I just handwave these restrictions away? What do you think? (Could justify it like - maybe it's actually on some evil NPC, or maybe it's a headset on a chair, like the Prey dental nightmare chair you linked in class, or maybe it's a clone version of Adam Jensen etc?)
